This is an abstract expressionist/contemporary style acrylic painting with a landscape or seascape type of image. This is the third painting in my "Red Line" series. I used a 2 inch gallery wrapped canvas on wood frame and painted it black, so it is ready to hang. I once again used a brayer tool, palette knife, and my hands to apply the acrylic paint. I typically blend the colors on the canvas and there is a process of adding, layering, and removing paint to achieve the texture, colors and composition desired. In this painting, the red line stands in contrast, creating some tension with the otherwise calm/cool colors. Without the red line, the rest of the painting would not be as interesting.
