More than 20 large-scale portraits of chewed wads of bubblegum cast in materials including metal, gypsum, wax and glass hang from the 2-story ceiling at head-height. The sound of chewing gum emanates from the interior of the forms, bouncing across the space as if in conversation with the viewer.
“I see these forms as visual manifestations of our anxiety, and an illustration of the tension that we have come to reside with.”
