Statement
Working in layered acrylic on canvas, I paint wildlife through close study of structure, gaze, and surface. My practice is rooted in ongoing engagement with the natural world and a focus on animals as distinct subjects rather than symbols.
The paintings lean toward realism while retaining a visible painterly surface. Compositions are intentionally restrained, allowing the subject to hold the space without added narrative. Careful attention to fur and feather creates a tangible sense of form, encouraging sustained looking and direct visual engagement.
Based in Northern California, I have exhibited publicly since 2017, and the work is held in private collections throughout the United States.
