The story of the widow giving her all (two coins) is often told or imagined as a women who is older and maybe in the last years of her life. I wanted to show that there are also widow's who are young and single moms who have mouths to feed but still act in faith in a God they can't see, as if they can. They know in their hearts that God is mindful of them and will provide in HIs own time and way. It would be easy to say, "I can't give this last bit of money, it's all I have, I have small children to feed" and who could blame her. I admire those who sacrifice more than I ever have to be obedient. consecrating their time, talents and money, trusting that God will see and give them what they need. This painting, I hope shows a purposeful women teaching her children by examples to trust in God's grace and let whatever happens after, happen.
