It was connected to the mainland when built on property occupied by the Native American tribe located in the area. It has since bee returned to their care and is closed to the public.
My studio remains unusable as I am still sorting it out after the flooding at the end of September. Depressing to be without it but I am making use of time by reviewIng older work. Like this piece from 2016. That was the year Erik Sandgren took us all wandering about the northern Oregon coast painting lighthouses along the way.
I treasure the memories, as difficult as travel painting is it was a marvelous guided tour of the Oregon Coastline and I have a solid grasp of its unique accessibility and stunning land formations where it meets the sea.
