The image was triggered from a recent book and listening to news and remembering places I have been. It was a fun and unusual way way for me to start a painting.

I did charcoal on canvas drawing the next day blowing it up from 2”x3” to 24x36”. The canvas drawing is more from memory of a scene at the coast.
