Painted on location overlooking the estuary of the Yachats River on the Oregon coast. The area is flush with wildlife and people. Otters can often be seen fishing in the surf as well as many Osprey diving for dinner. It was a clear sunny day, the first painting of the day at the beginning of the Sandgren Paint Out 42nd year. I hadn’t been here for months and it felt good to be among friends seated looking out to the familiar yet challenging scenery. Challenging because the coast is a dramatic busy landscape in a constate state of activity. Inland landscape are generally static by comparison and selecting what to paint a more simplified process. Price for unframed piece.
