Kathy Lynott was born in Marquette, MI in 1978. In addition to pen/pencil illustration and painting, Kathy attempted puppet making and was able to volunteer some time with the Heart of the Beast Theater’s MayDay parade in Minneapolis. She received her BS in Elementary Education from the University of Minneapolis-Twin Cities in 2010, but continued to pursue her artistic whims in her spare time by attending art shows with her sister and building a web page with MNArtists.org, MySLart.org and on Facebook.
Kathy has shown her work in the US including solo shows at the Blue Moon Cafe, Caffetto and The Blue Orange Gallery. She participated in two group shows at The Old Orchard Gallery in Webster Groves, MO and the gallery at the Syndicate Building in downtown St. Louis, MO. In 2015, she conducted her first Open Studio along with some other residents of the Artspace Everett Lofts in Everett, WA.
Her work communicates a joy in the process of art making so that the product is a symptom of the creative process. Because of this approach, no two items are the same. In 2013, Kathy launched her art business through a Facebook page called “Frivolous Notions.” You can find her painted tiles and other hand-made items right here on this page and soon in her open studio events!
