Sharp Edges Three grew out of my love of color, movement, and the surprises that happen when competing shapes begin to find their place. I built the painting with more than a dozen layers of cold wax medium, allowing earlier colors and forms to be hidden, revealed, and interrupted.
Although abstract, I think of it as an imagined landscape or map—assembled from memory, intuition, and motion rather than a specific place. The carved graphite lines add moments of playfulness and discovery, like small trails left behind.
For me, the piece is about energy, exploration, and the unexpected harmony that can emerge from complexity. There are three paintings in the full “Sharp Edge” series.
