Peters Doig Marlborough Arts Awards 2015

The Peters Doig Marlborough Art Awards held annually in May has established itself as one of the country's prestigious art exhibitions. Now in its 6th year it attracts entries from all over New Zealand and is regarded as the high point of the Gallery's year.

Congratulations goes to Kathryn Carter who received the Marlborough Arts society prize for the work Island Escarpment, a 500 x500 mm oil on canvas. The Peters Doig Marlborough Arts Awards is a renowned national exhibition, attracting numerous top New Zealand artists.

Artworks are selected by a judging panel. The Peters Doig Marlborough Art Awards 2015 recipients are:-

Marlborough Art Society (second place) 2nd Place - Kathryn Carter, "Island Escarpment" (Auckland)

Nola Hurford Memorial Award (3rd Place) Susie Baker, "Kaikoura Wharf, Under Destruction" (Kaikoura)

Seymour Picture Framing Award (4th Place) Karen Pringle, "Growth" (Invercargill)

Patron's Choice Award Susie Baker, "Kaikoura Wharf, Under Destruction" (Kaikoura)

Gourmet Collection; Lilac Wine Award (Highly Commended Marlborough Artist) Caroline della Porta "Half Light" (Picton)

Peoples Choice Award To be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition

The Art Exhibition was on until 31st May 2015 at the Marlborough Yealands Estate Gallery, 204 High Street, Blenheim, where the public were welcomed to vote for a Peoples' Choice Award, which will be announced shortly.
