Wildflowers of the Blue Moon is one of my "Other Skies" series which are characterised by slightly surreal skies and multiple moons. I love the softness of the painting and the gentle swaying of the flowers. It was such a peaceful artwork to paint and continues to provide a feeling of peace and gentleness.
My artworks in the Other Skies collection did not start with any specific image in mind and tended to evolve as I painted. My goal was some abstracted impressionist works that while recognisable as a landscape, did not represent something that “is” but rather something that could be or might be …. somewhere.
The artwork is framed in natural plantation oak, signed on the back, comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and registered on the National Register of Australian Art and Artists.
