This painting is part of a series based on Dorothea Mackellar's poem "My Country". This one captures the serene beauty of a mountain winter landscape at dusk. The sky is now ablaze with pink and orange hues, contrasting with the white snow that covers the ground and the hills. A few dark trees stand out to the side creating a sense of depth and perspective. The sun is partially hidden behind a hill, casting long shadows and a warm glow over the scene.
