Layers across Time draws on the visual language of sedimentary strata to explore how moments accumulate and leave their mark. The work considers history not as a single event but as a slow build‑up of decisions, shifts, and eras pressing against one another. The subdued palette carries this sense of depth and gravity, suggesting a surface shaped by what lies beneath.
The horizontal bands echo geological formations, with each layer hinting at a change in conditions or a trace of what once was. In the studio, the painting becomes its own form of sedimentation: gestures, revisions, and veils of colour building upon each other until only the most recent moment remains visible.
My practice is grounded in this idea of accumulated history. Through abstraction, I build surfaces that hold depth, complexity, and the quiet influence of everything beneath them.
