Statement
statement
I describe my work as fun + fine art for design: pieces grounded in the principles of design, technique, and quality that make art fine, while exuding a spirit of joyfulness and fun that makes collectors, and their walls, feel more alive - because spaces are designed for people, and fine quality should never preclude joyful living.
I don’t always reach for an intellectualized interpretation of my art, but great art, like life, is often replete with harmonic dissonance - dichotomies, contradictions, or juxtapositions that beg curiosity and a deeper investigation.
I live for art that is, at once, fun and fine, simple and complex, and worthy of our close attention and breathlessness. That type of engagement is what I hope to offer everyone who does me the honor of joining me on the journey of a piece.
Ultimately, I love what I do most because I get to share this fun + fine love of mine in equal measure with you - the collector, the designer, the art director. I aspire to offer you both beauty and substance: something you've been searching for, a companion for your morning coffee, a warm welcome to your guests, or maybe the just-right punctuation for a precisely designed moment.
Whatever purpose art serves in your life, thank you for including me in your quest for gorgeousness.
process
My process begins and ends with the client - whether I am working with an individual collector on a custom commission, or sourcing the perfect combination of original pieces and prints for a larger-scale design project.
I work directly with each client to get a comprehensive understanding of the project scope, objectives, requirements and limitations, as well as the design aesthetic of the space and personal tastes of all relevant stakeholders.
My work style is flexible and responsive, from delivering on tightly-defined specs for a decisive designer, to owning all aspects of the advisory, production and installation process for clients seeking end-to-end service.
I can’t wait to hear about your project!
