Karla Mulry is a representational oil painter, capturing and enlivening treasured memories of her clients' favorite people and places. Karla's first impressions of art were formed by viewing the German expressionist prints in her grandmother's home; the idea that art can have strong emotional content stuck. When she isn't working on commissions she mines her travel and family photos for subjects and paints plein air outside on the spot. She currently maintains a studio and shows at a shared artists' working space, the The Foundry Studios at New Village Arts in seaside downtown Carlsbad north of San Diego.
