Prints on Perspex

Large format acrylic print.  A high resolution print on perspex. Whereas the original painting is very flat and mat, blowing up the image on a reflective surface brings another dimension to the work. It evokes the opposite result of the original oil painting .
The figurative oil paintings quiets the mind, however by using perspex it creates the illusion of continuous movement.  Light bounces on the surface, mirroring the surrounding objects and subjects in the line of vision.
These limited prints are suitable for spaces that require energy, movement and excitement.  Some people prefer to fill their personal space with less and others are charged by boldness , noise and excitement.
This means that the duality of the piece come full circle.

Waterscapes

A series of expressionist paintings depicting moody freshwater-scapes. The mood is dreamy, luring the onlooker into a private porthole of fantasy and philosophy. The original paintings were digitally manipulated to create a sequence for the animated poem - NISHIKIGOI.
