A Year in Progress
As I reflect on the arrival of May, I am struck by how quickly the year has moved and how close we are to reaching its halfway point. I don’t have any profound insights to offer this time so I will share a brief update about what I have been doing and I will jump right into presenting the art I am releasing today.
Much of my creative output this year has been shaped by assignments from a design class I participated in. I struggled to find the creative energy necessary to complete the class projects and pursue my own ideas. Despite a slow down in my creative productivity, the class was a valuable experience.
In addition to taking a college course, I recently traveled to Palm Desert, Florida, and North Carolina. These trips provided an opportunity for fun, connecting with people I love and creative inspiration. Upon returning home, my husband and I decided it was time to tackle several large projects around the house. Committing ourselves to these tasks has meant that a portion of my time and focus has shifted away from making art.
Although all of these activities mean a slower pace in my art production, the process has not come to a halt. I am still creating, just at a different rhythm as we devote attention to our home.
The Art
The home projects made it necessary to clean out and temporarily relocate my studio and take inventory of ALL of the art pieces I have created. I carefully evaluated each piece, identifying which ones needed a final touch or adjustment before being ready to share with the world. With that work now complete, my gallery has been updated to include some new pieces. If you visit my gallery, you will see I have added options for prints of Dry Season In Florida, Unbalanced in Blue and A Garden for Susan. They will be giclee prints on fine art paper.
Releasing Cottage in Tuscany I and II, Rest & Shelter and Stream of Consciousness. More information available by viewing them in Earth and Spirit Collections.
