Statement
Every person’s life starts out as a clean sheet of pure possibility. You can’t erase or cover life’s layers, only build upon them and endeavor to let your light shine through.
As an artist who primarily paints figure and faces, it has always made sense to me to choose a medium that so closely echoes the process of life, which is why I have worked in transparent watercolor since my early college days.
Like life -and unlike other mediums - there are no “do-overs” with watercolor. Mistakes can’t be removed; you just learn from them. You may do your best to control it, but always be ready for a little spontaneity. Because watercolor, like life, will always surprise you.
