Source
An integral mix, water and oxygen, sustains all living entities on our small blue planet. Gem suspended upon the black velvet glove of space, Earth suffers from human ignorance and neglect. In my world, I assume water will always be. On most days clean air is a given. Yet water may not flow so readily tomorrow. Glaciers melt at an alarming rate without sufficient snowfall to replenish them. Failing glaciers, many major rivers would disappear. Canada abounds in lakes and rivers, so easily taken for granted. In fact, twenty percent of the world's fresh water is housed in the Great Lakes. Another twenty percent is produced by the Amazon water pump now being destroyed for the expansion of the beef industry. Pollution and greed increase the profit margins, however, we cannot breathe or eat gold. The cracks in our perfect plan for success reveal the stress lines. Cracks are part of my process. I create cracks and deliberately encourage paint to run in all directions. Then I paint in between the texture and the runoff. Neomosaic. It hints at an underlying instability. Sustained at the moment, we can still see the beauty and appreciate the source of our well-being. Let us hope the glaciers last and the rivers continue to feed our lakes while we share our wealth with those less fortunate.
Wanderings
Much of life is wandering in search of what would fill our soul. In the end many realize what we seek is within requiring another form of wandering.
