Karen is an artist who primarily paints in soft pastels. Her interest in art began at a young age and she studied art and photography after leaving school. She has always had a keen interest in both while pursuing a career in accounting.

​Although painting in oils as a hobby, in 2014 she discovered soft pastels, her love of painting was reignited and she started to seriously pursue art. 

A move to New Zealand and a strong interest in wildlife and conservation projects has lent itself to be the subject of her most recent paintings and the immediacy and vibrancy of soft pastels allow her to achieve the level of detail in each painting that she is known for. Whilst drawn to many different painting styles, she works in a realistic style intending to project her personality into the painting.
