This painting was commissioned by the Kanyer Family.

It features their pet at the time "Little John" and a view of Mt Adams in near Yakima Washington where there family lived. The flowers in the vase are for each of the family members birth month and the "Time Ball" which was a tool used by Laurie Kanyer in her work and originally founded by the Yakama Native America Women is featured too. The book in the painting fetid the "Enchantment Mountain" which is near Cle Elum Washington where Doug was raised.
