My pastel paintings have been widely collected in the United States and Europe for more than a decade. I have been awarded numerous recognitions in both juried and invitational shows, and my work has been acquired by corporations such as Merrill Lynch. I had the honor of attending my first artist reception in Atlanta this year as two of my paintings were hung in the Oglethorpe University Museum.
In 1995 I undertook an advanced education in the fine arts at The Glassell School of art in Houston. In recent years I have traveled extensively to study with Master artists such as Richard McKinley, Albert Handell and Elizabeth Mowry.
PERSONAL STATEMENT:
“ My photography and paintings describe how light defines our journey. Whether the landscape is shadowed Texas forest or the vast skies of Montana, everything we see is defined by light.
Sometimes light surrounds the edges, other times it blazes across the sky. I hope my paintings sing of memories painted in silence, and my photography illustrates the art so abundant in nature.”
I have always been an artist. Sketching as a child, drawing nature, always creating with my hands. The challenge of capturing and pinning light and shadows onto a page never grows old.
