Over a thousand years ago handsome Genji galloped to conquest upon conquest of valor or love, and a character of merit he remains, but let us honor his horse, for so many times in history we remember the men but never mention the great horses who carried them, weary, loyal, unfailing, and undoubtedly loved beyond measure. Royal purple for his magnificence and Murasaki after the woman whom initially wrote the tale so very long ago. May we always honor our horses and give them merit for their glory as well.
