I have painted this rusty gate a few times now, a couple in plein air – one oil, one watercolor - and this one from photos I’ve taken. It’s a fun ornamental gate, not a practical one – and a birthday gift from one of my daughters several years ago. Every year it gets overtaken by my beautiful magenta bougainvillea on one side and lantana on the other. This is my favorite backyard view!
