Madeline Island is a magical island on Lake Superior - getting there is a short but delightful ferry ride from Bayfield, Wisconsin, where I have taught two watercolor workshops for Madeline Island School of the Arts. Each time I was there, wildflowers bloomed, waves caressed the shores, and the atmosphere was artful and peaceful. Lake Superior View from Madeline Island is painted from photos I took while there. Painters are so lucky to be able to re-live special moments when telling the story in paint. This painting is one such memory.
