On a recent trip to Oak Creek Canyon just north of Sedona, I was enchanted to see coming down the creek toward me three young buck deer. Of course, I grabbed my camera and shot photos and videos of these beautiful creatures as they picked their way through the rocks and rushing water. I chose to paint the first of what I hope to be several paintings from these photos on copper, allowing the sheen of the metal to indicate parts of the deer, forest, and water.
