A chilly late afternoon on Oak Creek, all the trees dripping with the afternoon showers, with some of the trees having already lost their leaves, yet others a strangely spring-like green, the day suddenly becomes magical. Fireplaces in nearby cabins are lit and the fragrance of the water, vegetation and smoke combine into the perfume of autumn. I try to capture that rich, chill atmosphere.
After the Rain is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas of 1.5 inches depth. The image is painted around and onto the sides of the canvas and presented in a frame that shows the painted sides of the canvas.
