We are all more than we appear to be. So, too, is my artwork. Bold, bright, and colorful from afar, the work changes when you view it closely. To me, layers symbolize the complex nature of people — what's visible and concealed. My object is to create compelling visual juxtapositions that both jangle and yet appear cohesive. A curator once told me that she liked my work the more and more she stared at it because she kept seeing new things. I want my artwork to be like the best kind of people: more interesting as you get to know them.
