The Songs Birds Sing (poem and painting by Julie Crisan)
Oh the wisdom of the trees, if they could talk what would they say?
Slow down, be patient I hear. I comply and the unveiling begins.
Gusts will come. Do not be surprised; instead sway and resilience will be gained.
Resisting the changes that come with the seasons weakens our roots
Embrace what comes and the strength to rise you will find.
Weary souls lend an ear, for we have been here for a bit.
Reach for the sky, face the sun and absorb the water in all its forms.
Revel in silence, take a pause; for your soul finds ease in the calm.
Enjoy the simplest of things, the magical trees, blossoms, and the songs birds sing.
