How do you paint a hug? I’ve been sitting with that question for a while. I wanted to capture my grandson’s joyful, wholehearted embraces — the way he runs straight into my arms, fearless and glowing, an explosion of love that seems to wrap around my whole body and radiate through the rest of my day.
After a lot of back-and-forth with color, space, and line, this is where I landed. It’s my attempt to translate that feeling — that burst of pure connection — onto the canvas. If it carries even a hint of the warmth he gives so freely, I've succeeded.
