A New Orleans native, Juanita is an abstract artist working primarily in acrylics on canvas, paper, and wood, often incorporating mixed media to create texture and depth. Inspired by personal photographs of florals, landscapes, and architecture from her home and travels, her work reflects both joy and serenity while expressing a deep connection to her surroundings.
In 2018, Juanita began honing her craft at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, strengthening her foundation in art and design. She continues cultivating her creative voice through professional art workshops. Her paintings have been exhibited in Louisiana and Florida and are held in private collections throughout the South. Juanita currently works from her studio in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

As an abstract artist, I am captivated by the intricate shapes, lines, and vivid shades of the natural environment, which both exhilarate and soothe the soul. My work is deeply inspired by the beauty of compositions captured in my photographs at home and on travel. The places I encounter awaken my creative spirit, whether through a single garden flower, the expansive sweep of a landscape, or the sophisticated lines of a city's architecture. The photographs fuel my artistic process, transforming these moments into abstract expressions on canvas. My work aims to inspire a joyous, yet serene environment infused with a spiritual connectedness to nature's profound beauty.
