I love how this reminds me of grasses among fallen leaves in autumn. It has that feeling of unrestrained changes of nature. The beauty combined with the ending of a season provides an interesting juxtaposition.
I'm thinking of the joy of my first home where we had a lot of fallen leaves every year. I loved getting out there and raking the yard clear. It was so satisfying to see the clean lawn after raking the leaves into huge black trash bags and lining them up along the curb. Autumn seems to inspire the energy to get a lot of work done both at home and school. As a former elementary school music teacher, it was always an exciting time with big plans for the year.
