Spanish fine art landscape photographer exploring the harmony of light, land, and sea.
MessageI am a photographer committed to landscape as an expansive artistic medium, with a primary focus on natural environments and seascapes, and an occasional exploration of cityscapes and architectural subjects.
My path into photography began through mountaineering. Experiencing remote places and witnessing rare conditions of light led me to seek a way to preserve and share those fleeting moments. That impulse continues to guide my work today.
Having been born and raised in Santander, on the northern coast of Spain, where the Cantabrian Sea meets the foothills of the Cantabrian Mountains, much of my work centers on coastal terrain and mountain landscapes. At the same time, my broader interest in nature draws me to diverse environments beyond these regions. My background in civil engineering further shapes my attention to structure, scale, and the dialogue between built form and natural space.
Photography is, for me, both a way of seeing and a way of translating experience into something tangible. From planning and capturing to editing and printing, I maintain a fully hands-on process, allowing each photograph to remain closely aligned with my original perception of the scene.
Statement
I am drawn to landscapes that express states of force or stillness. My work explores the emotional and physical atmosphere of a place, ranging from scenes of raw power to moments of quiet calm. Heavy seas, storms, cliffs, and monumental structures alternate with silence, balance, and reflection, capturing the way I experience these environments.
My images immerse the viewer in that experience, inviting a direct encounter with light, scale, and presence.
Coasts and mountains form my natural terrain, shaped by the geography in which I was raised. My training in engineering and architecture informs my perception of structure, proportion, and human intervention within the landscape.
My practice combines technical precision with a craft-based approach to printmaking. I work in both color and black and white, using natural light and restrained post-processing, and produce my prints personally on museum-grade paper with archival pigment inks. For me, the print is the essential and final form of the photograph.
