Lofton sometimes uses monochromatic schemes in portraying his subjects. Blue and green hues dominate this composition. The guitar forms a diagonal that is counter-balanced by the arms and legs of the body of the musician. Lofton’s musical compositions with guitar, might be a nod to Picasso’s Old Guitarist from his Blue Period.
