I am an abstract artist living in Princeton, NJ. My paintings are an expression of the convergence of beauty and nature.
MessageI was born in Montreal to a French Canadian family. I moved to the US in 1987 to pursue acting studies and later completed my undergraduate and graduate studies in Social Work. Creative expression has always been an important part of my life. I have dedicated the last 3 decades of my life to healing by way of becoming a therapist. Although deeply committed to my work as a healer, the artistic muse kept whispering in my ear to come back to visual expression. It was a longing to begin expressing myself from a place deep within. I headed the call and began painting in 2010. The last 15 years have been a journey of that self exploration through the prism of abstract painting.
Statement
I love beauty. It inspires me. Nature is the place where beauty and inspiration meet for me. I go for walks there, looking to shift from what might be stirring me to come to come to a place of ease inside of myself. It is this experience of peacefulness that assists me in connecting to my inner self. When I find that connection, I'm drawn to paint from that place. As an expression of a genuine desire that is deep within me. I found that abstract painting is where I can express that inspiration. It offers me a freedom and intimacy that allows me to express things that cannot be said with words.
My time in the studio starts without much of plan. I love sitting in front of the canvas, giving myself time to let the creative process unfold. Once an inspiration reveals itself, I allow the painting to speak to me, coming to a place of trusting what needs to emerge.
