Monserud + Gitterman: Motion

My current exhibition Monserud + Gitterman: Motion is on view through November 16 at the Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury, CT.

Inspired by movement such as ballet and modern dance, Joe Gitterman creates sculptures of bronze and stainless steel that accentuate sensual form or the suggestion of dynamic movement. Each of his works is an original that references the fluidity of form and motion.

Gitterman’s work has been selected for several shows in the area, including a juried show at the New Britain Museum of American Art. Several important private and corporate collections in the US and Europe, including the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston and Norwegian Cruise Lines, feature his sculpture.

An artist and architect, Susan Monserud most often creates works from her imagination, using oil and mixed media to develop a series of drawings or paintings. Line and mark-making are essentials in her abstract art and she typically references aspects of built structures as well as the natural landscape to inform her art. She has shown her work in numerous venues throughout the Northeast and many private collections include her art.
