João C. Gomes, a ceramicist whose work reflects a deep connection with nature and the land, was born in Sintra- Portugal, a region rich in stunning landscapes and cultural heritage, and found in ceramics a way of expressing his vision of the world.
Since 1996, he has run his ceramic sculpture studio in Sintra, where he develops work that transforms clay into visual narratives that explore the relationship between man and the environment.
For the author, ceramics is more than an art form; it is an alchemy that reveals the essence of the Earth.
He believes that everything is earth and that each piece he creates is a manifestation of this intrinsic connection.
Through his works, he invites the viewer to look at the landscape in new ways, proposing a reflection on our history and the importance of preserving nature.
His works are represented in various private and institutional collections both in Portugal and abroad, thus perpetuating her narrative that unites past and present, nature and creation, in a celebration of life and culture.
