Ancient Rings 92 continues the ongoing exploration of time, structure, and quiet variation that defines the Ancient Rings series. Thousands of small glass elements are individually placed to form a continuous field of ivory rings, creating a surface that feels accumulated rather than constructed—measured, patient, and human.

Sapphire blue inlays move through the vessel as moments of visual pause, set against a subtle topaz brown undertone that warms the ivory field. The blue reads cool and luminous by contrast, while the brown grounds the form, adding depth and a quiet earthiness that shifts with changing light.

Vertical rectangular interruptions rise and fall around the vessel, gently breaking the horizontal rhythm of the rings and allowing the eye to move between inside and outside, surface and structure. The form widens upward with a calm, assured presence, and light activates the surface differently from every angle, revealing small variations that only emerge through close viewing.

Like all works in the series, Ancient Rings 92 is less about repetition than accumulation. Each fragment represents a single decision, and together they resolve into a vessel that feels inevitable—ancient, balanced, and quietly alive.
