Statement
My paintings explore the dynamic interplay between structure and intuition, existing at the intersection of architectural geometry and organic movement. Bold lines stretch across color fields while subtle curves interrupt rigid boundaries, creating the visual tensions that drive my work.
My practice continues to evolve toward overlapping translucent planes, where curved forms navigate through architectural structures. Driven by my interest in the creative friction that emerges when geometric forms interact with gestural lines, color relationships simultaneously define and dissolve structural elements.
Each painting begins with gestural marks—lines that curve, divide, and create shapes across the canvas. As the painting develops, color fields layer over this initial framework while line work continues to interact with these new forms, responding to emerging spatial relationships and color interactions. I constantly explore new materials and methods to expand perspective, spontaneously incorporating paint drips, oil sticks, sewn canvas, and cold wax medium to allow unexpected discoveries to emerge.
By constructing these environments, the paintings function as both architectural spaces and emotional landscapes.
