I was struck by the silhouettes of trees on winter drives, so stark against the sky, and I wanted to create something evoking the Northwest. This piece is somewhat aspirational; I've watched movies and read books depicting this area and hope to someday travel there.

This pine tree I imagined perched on the edge of a cool stream in the mountains interlaced with pebbles; I added small circles into the wave droplets to symbolize the pebbles.

I spent many a summer afternoon with my feet dangling into the pool of a stream where water had eroded a large trees' roots that dangled into the pool. It was a quiet, calm place, and I think this piece also symbolizes that feeling to me.
