I drive by many trees in winter and early spring and love their delicate, complex shapes, especially the way the branches are silhouetted against the sky at sunset.
This fragile, young tree is just about to blossom in the spring. Its roots are anchored in the waves of the ocean or maybe a riverbank--we never knew how stable our foundations are until something shakes them. Despite all the chaos of waves underneath, we can grow tall and find anchors in the beauty of nature and stubborn perserverence of humanity.
