Statement
Jennifer is discovering the joy of combining acrylic paints, texture and unique bits of paper that she has collected or created. Her work has been described as graceful, moving, and energetic. If you love old-world patina, unique textures, layers and rich colors, perhaps her artwork may resonate with you. She has been a collector of vintage ephemera (papers) for many years. She loves the feel of old books, the graceful handwriting of days gone-by, the beauty in typography and interesting vintage illustrations. These are things she often incorporates into her work.
She invites the viewer to enjoy her work from afar as well as up-close through her many layers.
"I'm not trying to make statements necessarily in my art, but I hope the viewer resonates with something within it." - Jen Dowdell
