This study operates as a point of convergence between image sources and unfolding events. Beginning with the organic structure of a mushroom and merging into the visual atmosphere of the early 2019 Hong Kong pro-democracy protests, the work brings together growth, disruption, and transformation within a single surface.
The harbour emerges not as a fixed location but as shifting ground—where forms expand, dissolve, and reconfigure. The black square begins to appear here as a latent presence, embedded within the image rather than fully asserted, suggesting an early stage in the series’ evolving visual language.
