The With Love From Amsterdam series is a limited edition series. Travel has always played a vital role in InterArtist Jen Hefeli’s life. The ocean, the sky, mountain views, and bustling cities across the world provide inspiration for Jen’s work. In June of 2022, Jen spent ten days in Amsterdam. It’s a city she loves for many reasons. The architecture, the history, the artwork, and the many different cultures that find their way there. Jen created a series of watercolor, metallic acrylic, and ink paintings during that timeframe. The pieces were inspired by walks across the picturesque bridges and along the canals. They are filled with colors blended from images taken in during days wandering the museums, and while sipping chai next to the calmness of the water, broken by nothing but bots gently waking and a swan swimming. These pieces are titled, “With Love From Amsterdam”. They are limited, just like Jen’s time in Amsterdam. A few have a glistening sky. Some have a golden hue reminding the viewer of the light reflecting off of the water at night. Jen prefers not to give too much insight, but rather leave the images for the viewer to discover for themselves. That’s the magic of it. The paintings are a small gift, a view of Amsterdam for those who were not there with her. Perhaps an invitation to go see the beauty of the city for yourself.
