Jeanette Innala
Helsingborg
Swedish artist Jeanette Innala is best known for her composition of light and color, giving her work a unique signature which is central in every piece.
MessageBIO
Innala’s practice is an exploration of layering light, space, and movement. Using color as the symbolic current, or agent, moving below the surface constantly reflecting and mirroring the viewer. The intention is to create a purely intuitive sensation detached from cognitive recognition. The narrative comes from the visual dialogue and spatial connection with the viewer where she invites them into an opening to another world. The colors exploring the veil between the reality and what lies beyond.
Working many times with the unpredictable and chance as an essential element in her creative process allows her work to evolve organically. She blurs the line between traditional painting and photography creating works that explores a new reality through movement and form.
Self-taught Jeanettes has developed a highly personal approach to color and the process of creating. Her expertise in creating layers of colors and light into abstract movement is endowed with an almost an otherworldly sense and power. Making the visuals form an ethereal and translucent quality as well as depth and a three-dimensional aspect by using tools, disciplines, and techniques, from different artforms and mediums, like traditional painting and photography combined with resin or luciteglass.
Jeanette was born in 1968 and currently lives and works in the southern Sweden.
Statement
Creating art is a completely intuitive experience for me. It isn’t really a choice more a vocation or a need. Every work becomes a translation of the color and light as I see them. For me color is a powerful agent of communication, and color has been a chosen universal language since beginning of time. That’s why vibrant colour in movement is so dominant in my art.
