This series combines a memory and a ‘conversation’ with a favorite artist, Gustave Klimt. (862 -1918, Vienna)

Drive only a few miles in the sandhills of SC and you’ll encounter a pine tree grove.

As a child crammed in a back seat of the family Volks Wagon van,I vividly recall the hypnotic quality of these slender trunks, all in rows, marching by my eyes as rhythmic as a heartbeat.

Years later, I merge this perspective with my admiration for Klimt’s Orchard series. As in much of my collections, I strive to merge the chaotic with the calm. Movement, energy and harmony.
