This view is based on a series of small Plein air paintings created after a month long residency in Beaumont de Pertuis, France. 🇫🇷I was mesmerized by this hill town view and studied it in all lights. When I enlarged the view I wanted to convey as a memory rather than the more literal small paintings. I wanted the viewer to see some passages of color beneath the surface to coney changes in memory.
