“Petals of Renewal,” 24x6 inches, reflects nature’s delicate beauty and resilience. By recycling an earlier piece and incorporating my artist-made recycled paper, I transformed its elements into a new expression of life, mirroring the renewal of the unique bright pink cherry blossom trees blooming after the first snow on Maunakea (Big Island of Hawaii).
My signature addition of coconut frond fiber adds texture and depth, symbolizing the connection between land, life, and transformation. The work explores the balance of fragility and strength, honoring nature's cycles as spring emerges with its promise of renewal.
The artist made recycled paper, dye, and coconut fiber mounted on a wood-cradled panel.
