I lived in Nepal and studied Newari sculpture in the 1980s. Then I was a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka for 3 years. I have been collecting Asian Art ever since.
MessageThe collection of Newar paubhas (paintings of gods) you see on this page are mostly from well-known artists who have exhibited their works in art shows, entered them in competitions, and have gained the admiration and respect of their peers. I have spent so much time with some of these paintings that they are like cherished friends who I am a sad to let go of. But, I can no longer hang them on the walls and look at them daily. They need another home where they can be admired and inspire their new owners. Such paintings will only grow in value, as they have for me, becoming excellent investments. May one of these paintings catch your eye and inspire your spirit.
