The aged Cotswold stone continually draws me; in this case it seemed to be inviting me for a cup of tea.
To create some of the texture, the rice paper was mounted on board and properly prepared to receive oils. Using this technique enabled me to paint more Impressionistic because I was utilizing the underlying texture in addition to my brush strokes.
